**June 15 update -- bill passed Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee**

CA SB 1062 has passed the Senate and is now assigned to the Assembly Committee on Water, Parks and Wildlife.  The Committee is holding a hearing on the bill on Tuesday, June 14, and they will vote on the bill that day.  Please contact the members of the Assembly Water, Parks, and Wildlife Committee to let them know you oppose this legislation.  Contact information is listed below.  Further details are also available from the Help Elephants Now website at www.helpelephantsnow.org.  All written comments must be submitted to the Committee before noon on Wednesday, June 8 if you would like your opposition to be noted in the Committee Analysis.  The Committee strongly encourages commenters to submit a copy by FAX at (916) 319-2196 (in addition to any emails you send).
